Your challenge
Are you the experienced system designer who can work in multi-disciplinary teams to solve the technical and business innovation challenges of our customers? Do you want end-to-end senior designer technical responsibility from initial client contact to the delivery of fully functional equipment prototypes for demanding mechanization and industrialization applications? Your challenge - to deliver meaningful innovation where others can’t. 

Your responsibilities 
As a senior designer at Philips Innovation Services (Eindhoven - the Netherlands) you are the key player in guiding advanced mechatronics-based projects from initial concept to reality - not just for Philips’ internal lighting, healthcare and consumer lifestyle businesses but also for external customers.

Your primary responsibilities as Senior Designer are: 
•initiating creative concepts and constructive solutions for mechanization and industrialization application
•leading multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver effective solutions on-time and on-budget
•risk management and resource planning
•strengthening of Philips Innovation Services’ knowledge base and core competencies 

Your team  
You’ll be part of a 600-strong team of technology experts, designers, project managers and consultants who have decades of experience in supporting customers both inside and outside Philips - from major companies in sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing and healthcare to highly innovative start-ups.

In the Mechatronics department (approximately 200 employees) you’ll be a key member of the team responsible for developing breakthrough solutions in areas such as smooth motion control, ultra-high accuracy positioning systems, nanometer accurate lithography, advanced healthcare products and production equipment. You’ll enjoy the resources to investigate new concepts, design new solutions and realize prototypes using the latest design techniques and process technologies.

Desired Skills & Experience
We are looking for  A professional Senior Designer with: 
•    a degree in mechanical engineering or an associated discipline
•    7 to 10 years work experience in a high-technology industry, preferably in a production-oriented environment
•    familiarity with design for six sigma and design for assembly and all relevant aspects of product, process and production equipment development
•    excellent team player, coaching, influencing and presentation skills
•    a creative, open-minded, results-driven attitude to problem solving
•    willingness to travel to the USA, Asia and Europe (10%-25%)
